Our new Skyblock is here! This is not just an ordinary update, but a completely redeveloped system that brings with it an entirely new experience. For several years we have been working on leading Skyblock into a new era. At times we even thought about starting all over again. In the end we made a conscious decision to preserve twelve years of Skyblock history.
The result is a brand new Skyblock that remains fully compatible with everything that came before. No islands are lost and no player data disappears. Finding the right balance between a fresh concept and the heritage of the past was a huge challenge and is something truly unique in the Minecraft world. Now it is finally here and we cannot wait to begin this new era together with you!
The Island Market changes the way you trade and organize resources in Skyblock. It sets the course for the future of Skyblock and will become a central part of the economy and overall gameplay in the long run.
At your market stall, different villagers will appear over time and line up in a small queue. Each villager comes with a specific request. The monster hunter is looking for mob drops such as rotten flesh or spider eyes, the farmer wants fresh crops, and every trader has their own unique demands.
By completing their orders you increase the level of your market stall, which unlocks new resources, new traders, and a higher demand for goods.
Once your Island Market reaches level 10 you unlock both the storage and the merchant. From this moment on you can fully automate your market stall. Whenever a new villager appears, the merchant automatically checks whether the right goods are available in storage and delivers them without you having to lift a finger. The earnings go straight into your island bank.
The best part is that the Island Market keeps working even when your island is not loaded. If you take a break to do something else and come back later, your stall will already be waiting with new profits, gifts, and a full line of customers.
You can fill your storage manually, but also by using hoppers and pipes. This way it connects directly to your automatic farms to keep the supply flowing. As your market level increases, so does your storage capacity, although you will need to invest a few coins to upgrade it.
Over time you will encounter different villagers at your market stall. At the beginning there are seven of them, but we plan to expand this selection significantly in the future. Among them will be special and rare villagers that only appear from time to time.
With a bit of luck, villagers may leave small gifts for you after a trade. Each one has unique items that can later help you complete their orders more quickly or more easily. For example, the miner can reward you with a cobblestone generator that makes gathering materials much easier.
This is a big step toward making the economy both fairer and more exciting, since many of these items were previously available only through treasure chests.
Through the Island Market many resources that once seemed secondary suddenly gain a whole new importance. Some materials are easy to collect, while others require more effort or clever tricks. To keep the gameplay varied, we have introduced several new mechanics:
A brand new Skyblock update naturally calls for a brand new spawn. When creating it we paid special attention to making sure it can easily be expanded with new NPCs and features in the future. Even though the spawn might feel a little large at the moment, it is easy for players to navigate and you will find everything important right there.
The reworked traders at spawn provide you with the most essential blocks and materials. Compared to earlier versions their selection has been reduced, while everything else can be obtained through the tutorial island or by trading with other players. This way trading becomes more open and dynamic between players.
Another highlight is the Spawner Cave, where you can revive spawners. This makes it much easier to expand your mob farms and develop new strategies without making things too complicated.
In addition, new leaderboards give you the chance to compete with other players. You can compare yourself in categories such as the Island Market, coins (the richest players), fishing trophies, or playtime. More rankings may be added in the future.
You can make your island publicly accessible to other players through the new Balloon Rider, for example to offer goods or run small shops. A new search feature lets you look for specific islands. Access is still only possible if the owner is online or if the island belongs to a Premium+ player, who can receive visitors even when offline.
When you enter the new Skyblock, you automatically start on your own Tutorial Island. This applies both to existing players joining for the first time and to complete newcomers. Here, you are guided step by step through various quest lines to learn the most important functions and game mechanics of Skyblock. The tutorial is designed for solo play, but you can easily share the tasks if you team up with friends.
At the center of the island is the new market stall, which every Tutorial Island includes by default. Don’t worry – you can move it to any island later. For new players in particular, the Tutorial Island is the perfect place to access all the essential resources and functional blocks, making the start of your Skyblock adventure much smoother.
With the newly redesigned Skyblock, we have also completely overhauled island management. The menus are now much clearer and more intuitive, and new features give you greater control and convenience when organizing your islands.
Since every player now starts with their own Tutorial Island, we have increased the maximum number of islands to seven. These island slots are no longer tied to a rank. No one should be forced to buy a subscription just to access their islands. Instead, you can unlock additional slots once with rubies and then use them flexibly. Existing islands are of course preserved, and the corresponding slots are automatically and permanently unlocked for you.
You can now improve your islands through different upgrade levels. Each new level expands the world border, giving you more space to build and design. At the same time, your limits are increased, for example for dropped items or the number of animals and mobs. These limits now apply to the entire island and can be viewed at any time in a clear menu. There, you can see exactly how much capacity is currently used by which animals or items.
The new permission system is much more detailed and allows you to precisely define which objects or functions other players can interact with through nesting. Instead of simply choosing between allowed or forbidden, you can now select from over fifty specific options. This way, permissions can be perfectly tailored to your needs.
One major advantage of the new system is that Skyblock is now also available in multiple languages, making it possible for players from all over the world to play together. Unlike games like Cactus Tycoon or Minecraft Party, Skyblock has a strong focus on user-generated content, meaning that players shape the game themselves. Because of this, we are not yet sure if adding other languages will work just as smoothly. We would, however, be very happy if you give it a try and welcome English-speaking players to our Skyblock, helping them along the way.
