Introducing Coins in Minecraft Party

update
May 30, 2025
It's time for some major changes in Minecraft Party! From now on, you can collect coins and trade them for power ups on the game board. We've also added a brand new minigame for you, and of course, a fresh game and map rotation!

This update brings major changes to Minecraft Party. For nearly a decade, the goal in Minecraft Party has been to perform well in minigames to unlock one of the three bonus dice on the game board, helping you move further ahead. Everyone else went home empty-handed, no matter how well they played. This is about to change!

How to Collect Coins

In every minigame, you'll now have the chance to earn coins in various ways. The number of coins you receive usually depends on your placement. However, in some minigames, you can also collect coins directly or earn them as rewards for special actions, such as accurate hits or successful eliminations. This means that even players who don't make it into the top 3 will no longer walk away empty-handed. Players are also rewarded for taking risks. In survival games, for example, those who actively eliminate opponents instead of hiding until the end will now be rewarded with coins for their more aggressive playstyle.

Here’s a list of minigames where you can currently earn extra coins:

  • Skywars, Survival Games, Walls, and Lucky Towers: You earn extra coins for every elimination. In Skywars and Tower Roulette, coins are credited instantly. In Survival Games and Walls, eliminated players drop coins you can pick up.
  • Musical Chairs: While the music is playing, coins rain down from above, grab as many as you can.
  • Lasertag: The longer you maintain your killstreak, the more coins you earn.
  • Race, Dragon Escape, The Floor is Lava, and Horse Race: Coins are scattered along the track and can be collected during the run.
  • Too Many Items and Mine Battle: Mining gold ore drops bonus coins.
  • Hot Potato: When a player explodes with the potato, the explosion drops coins that others can pick up.
  • Elytra Race: Flying through rings grants you coins—the more accurate your flight through the center, the more coins you get.
  • Shooting Range: Glowing golden monsters now give you coins when hit.
  • Tumble Tactics: You can earn coins by activating question mark blocks.

What are the coins for?

You can spend your collected coins in the brand new Coin Shop on the game board! There, you'll find a variety of items  that help you move forward faster or give you strategic advantages.

Bronze, Silver, and Gold Dice:
These dice can be used to make extra progress on the game board. Each type of die rolls different ranges of numbers, with higher-tier dice offering better chances for big moves.

Double Coins:
Doubles the number of coins you earn in the next minigame, but make sure you at least earn back the cost to make it worth it!

Pipe:
Teleports you to a random player on the game board. If you're near the end, it's a great way to catch up. But beware, you might end up landing behind if luck isn’t on your side.

Chaos Dice:
This unpredictable dice can push you forward by up to 6 spaces for just a few coins but be careful, as it might also send you back up to 3 spaces if you're unlucky.

After purchasing a item, its price increases, and you can only buy one item per round! So make sure to use them wisely. Since these new items let you move across the game boards much faster, we've extended all boards slightly and added extra spaces to keep things balanced.

Vote for Minigames!

Players with a Premium or Premium+ rank can vote for the first minigame in public games! Each round offers a random selection of 5 minigames to choose from. The minigame with the most votes is guaranteed to be played first! If there’s a tie, the choice will be made at random.

The other minigames from the vote can still appear randomly later in the round, of course! Players with a Premium rank get one vote, while Premium+ players have two votes.

New Minigame: Lucky Towers

In this minigame, you spawn on a randomly generated tower made of bedrock. All players receive random items at regular intervals, which heavily influence how the game unfolds. The goal is to stay alive while knocking as many other players to their doom as possible. To make the gameplay even more exciting, there are some special mechanics. For example, you can throw spawn eggs to unleash monsters on your opponents! Thanks to the huge element of randomness in this minigame, you’ll experience plenty of funny moments. Even with skill, luck always plays a big part in the outcome!
